Tanzania, a destination cherished for its safari tours, boasts a tropical climate with noticeable regional variations. Factors like altitude play a significant role in these differences. This makes Tanzania Weather a crucial aspect to consider while planning your journey. Simba Safaris, with its extensive experience and local knowledge, are well-equipped to guide you through the climatic diversity of this beautiful country. Their expertise ensures you are well-prepared for the varying conditions, from the humid coastlines to the cooler interiors, enhancing your safari experience.

Seasonal Weather Patterns

Tanzania experiences two main seasons which profoundly influence the country's flora and fauna.

Dry Season (June to October)

Characterized by minimal rainfall and low humidity. Nights are cooler, so packing warm clothing for morning game drives, especially in northern parks, is essential.

During this period, afternoon temperatures fluctuate between 20°C/68°F and 30°C/86°F, mainly depending on altitude and location.

Wet Season (November to May)

This season sees higher temperatures in the afternoon, occasionally exceeding 30°C/86°F. It's colder in regions above 1,300m/4,265ft. The short rains, unpredictable in their onset, might even start in October in Northern Tanzania. However, these rains seldom disrupt safari plans.

A notable fact is the 'Long rains' from March to May, where daily heavy showers are frequent, increasing the humidity, especially in southern and western parks.

Considering these seasonal patterns, Simba Safaris provides tailored advice, ensuring that travellers are well-prepared and can maximise their safari expeditions.
