Traverse the magnificent slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro with the Lemosho Route, renowned for its scenic grandeur and tranquil trails. Spanning across the vast expanse of the Shira Plateau, this route promises a delightful and relatively flat hiking experience from the west side of the mountain to the east. With minimal crowds until its convergence with the Machame Route near the Lava Tower, Lemosho offers a serene journey, allowing for a fuller appreciation of the mountain’s natural beauty.
At Simba Safaris, we believe that the Lemosho Route is the top choice for those desiring a more secluded and enriching trek. Originating at the Londorossi Gate on Kilimanjaro's western flanks, the path navigates through lush rainforests teeming with wildlife. Look out for black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, small lizards, and a vibrant array of bird species. The journey continues onto the Shira Plateau, showcasing easy-to-trek terrain and breathtaking landscapes.
