Simba Safaris invites you to join us on a trekking expedition on the Machame Route, Kilimanjaro's celebrated pathway. Known as the “Whiskey” route, this six to seven-day camping trail stands as Kilimanjaro’s preferred choice, embraced by approximately 35% of all climbers. Offering a balanced blend of stunning vistas and a gratifying challenge, the Machame Route ensures ample acclimatization, suiting those with flexible itineraries.
Contrary to the “Coca-Cola” simplicity of the Marangu route, Machame’s rugged terrains insist on tented accommodations, providing an authentic outdoor experience. The journey unfolds through iconic landmarks, including the Lava Tower and Shira Plateau, traversing valleys and ridges demanding resilience but rewarding unrivalled panoramas. From beginning the trek on the southern flank, beneath the Southern Ice Field, to reach the summit from Barafu Camp, the Machame Route displays a diverse topography, ensuring a memorable adventure with Simba Safaris.
